Hezbollah has affected and impacted the very strongly Arab-Israeli conflict due to their many attacks against Israel, and their ultimate intention of destroying Israel, which puts them on the side of the Arabs.

Hezbollah is political and military group in Lebanon consisting of Shi’a muslims. It came about in 1982, in the midst of the Arab-Israeli conflict, in response to the invasion of Lebanon by Israelis. The invasion of Lebanon began in 1978, where Israelis pushed the Palestine Liberation Organization past the Litani River, yet their campaigns against Israeli continued. Soon after his successor Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah took power, and wanted nothing more than revenge on Israel. In March of 1992, Hezbollah bombed the Israel embassy in Buenos Aires, and other international attacks followed. More attacks followed, and on March 30th, 1996 Hezbollah fired 28 rockets into North Israeli towns, and then 16 more. In retaliation, Israel launched Operation Grapes of Wrath, in hopes of stopping the rocket fire. Hezbollah fired again in August the same year, and in October, the United States recognized Hezbollah as a terrorist group. Untill 2000, Hezbollah's guerilla’s and Israeli soldiers fought on the southern border of Lebanon and Israeli troops were evacuated in May of 2000 resulting in an increase of Hezbollah’s popularity, and more power favoring the Arabs. More attacks were launched and tactics are used. In 2005, former Lebanese prime minister Rafik al-Hairi is killed due to an explosion in Beirut. This event allowed for the expansion of influence of Hezbollah in Lebanon.

In July and August of 2006, Hezbollah kidnapped 2 Israeli soldiers, causing at 34-day war. In 2008, Hezbollah expanded into government when gaining 2 seats in the cabinet and by 2011 the cabinet is dominated by Hezbollah. More attacks occur, in regards to border tensions, and conflict in Syria.
