What Caused The Fatah Conflict

In Arab Israeli conflict , there are many people and groups that were involved. One of the organizations that has caused issues is Fatah .

Fatah is a political party that was created in 1965. This group was found by Yassar Arafat and are big supporters of the Palestinians in the Arab Israeli conflict. Since its formation the organization has had many strong countries such as Syria help support it. This alliance has given Fatah a chance to start attacks against Israel. The party attacked Israel from several countries; Jordan, Lebanon, and the Gaza.

The first Fatah attack against Israel occurred on January 1st , 1965. During this raid, Fatah tried to bomb the National Water Carrier. Although they set up the bomb, it did not go off . Through 1956-1967 Fatah had nearly 122 raids. Even though Israel did not fire back, this led to new borders around Israel and other countries. …show more content…

However, when this power shift occurred, other groups in the organization left. These groups left because Fatah showed them how weak, worthless, or moderate they were. Later in 1988, Fatah’s power was insignificant and the group had to negotiate a solution with Israel. Then, by 1993, Fatah accepted Israel and the violence stopped.

By 2002 Fatah had another uprise, at this this time Fatah was associated with Al-Asqa Martyrs’ Brigades. During the uprise the Brigades attacked many soldiers and indigenous people in the West Bank and Gaza, as well as suicide attacks inside Israeli civilization. Although Fatah resorted to violence, the terrorist group became weaker.

The next major event for Fatah was in 2006, in this year the organization lost the PLO election to Hamas. This new power led to disagreements about negotiating the two state solution
