1. Hildegard made several significant contributions to Christianity. She spread word to the public by preaching in the streets about readings from the bible, to allow for adherents who were mostly illiterate during the time, to have power over their own faith and provide them with knowledge that was previously inaccessible. This allowed for Christian adherents to gain access to their own faith. Hildegard corresponded with people of a higher status through letters including to Henry II and other monarchs, this called out and challenged entrenched corruptions. Through this she influenced adherence to speak out about the corruptions and the works of the church and though this Hildegard contributed to the change in the behaviour in Christian church.
