The two major political party candidates from the election of 1988 is George Bush and Michael Dukakis. The political positions that the candidate George Bush held before seeking presidency was being a vice president for President Ronald Reagan and for Dukakis he was a governor for Massachusetts. The more liberal candidate was Dukakis because he was a democrat and the more conservative was Bush because he was a republican. Dukakis was more challenged by people in his own party during the primary election because the democrats thought that their party would need to win it all also they refused renomination. Edwards won the 1983 election because he amplified his strengths against his opponent’s weaknesses. Edwin Edwards proved he was capable for the position, he had a weak opponent, and he was popular.

Tammany Hall is one of the most controversial topics of political history and is the main discussion of the book Honest Graft:
In Jill Stein’s response to the fifth question, “Where do you stand on NDAA Section 1021?” (2012 Third Party Presidential Debate, 2012, 1:01:32-1:01:38), she clearly used vocalics, “vocal characteristics we use to communicate nonverbal messages” (McCornack, 2013, p. 233), when she stated the following, “It’s an outrage that 1021 NDAA was ever passed to start with. It’s an incredible betrayal of our civil liberties that the president has assumed dictatorial rights to put us in prison at his pleasure without charge or without trial” (2012 Third Party Presidential Debate, 2012, 1:01:43-1:02:07). The way that she was speaking and her body language had clearly changed from her pervious responses to other questions and it
Bernie Sanders and the Democratic party share similar views on many of the issues that the United States faces. While they share the same views Sanders is generally seen as leaning more left than most of the general party 's stances. Sanders is pro choice, believes in gender and marriage equality, believes that war should be a last resort option, believes that we should continue our fight with ISIS but the majority of the work should be done by the Muslim nations and we should use coalitions and not try to do it all by ourselves, Sanders wants to make public colleges tuition and debt free, and he wants to have more taxes on the billionaire class, and make them pay their fair share. The Democratic party shares many of the same views with some

Primaries are timewise way earlier than the elections. As mentioned earlier, primaries are useful to narrow the candidates down before an election. The 2016 primaries will start on February 1st in Iowa and end on June 14th in Washington, DC. After that, on November 8th, the national presidential election takes place, where through a vote from the members of the U.S. Electoral College the President and Vice President of the United States will get elected directly. Taking the Democrats as an example: Hillary Clinton could win the primaries and would therefore be part of the “options” during the presidential elections.
