"Most people think its sex, money, and drugs but Hip-Hop is about lyrics, storytelling, and everybody having a different style. That's just another idea of beautiful, being yourself and creating music that represents you and what you like." -Rapsody. Hip-Hop started to be considered a culture down in 1973. Since then, general opinion hasn't changed much. People always talk about how Hip-Hop is for black and how it's insulting to women especially. But before I get into this, you should ask yourself, am I one of those people?

I truly believe that Hip-Hop is for everyone since Hip-Hop is all about expressing your feelings and or problems with rhymes and a touch of rhythm. Everybody has feelings and problems but maybe white people dont want to …show more content…

For example one of the greatest rappers today is white, Eminem, another example that we probably listen to everyday is Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Some people even judge others that aren't african American for listening to Hip-Hop. There are son reasons why people say white people dont belong to Hip Hop culture, which are partly true but not valid.

One of the most used arguments is that Hip Hop icons are all (or most) black, it's true because the most famous icons are Notorious BIG and 2pac. They're both black and are considered the most important from Hip Hop culture but that has nothing to do with it because in football the greatest legend is black (Pele), does that mean football is for black people?

Another reason why people say its for black its because of the record labels. Record labels want money only. People prefer stereotypical gangsters for Hip-Hop, so what do you think record labels do? They only help stereotypical gangsters, which are blacks and it takes away the chance for white people. Record labels of course are the ones that make rappers famous, so how can there be more white people than black people in Hip-Hop, if people dont want
