While Pop is an older style of music that is said to talk about love songs, and music styles such as Jazz, Rock, Classical, etc. The term Hip Hop, is taking us back to way further past the 19th century and is interchanged with freestyles and beats and DJ’s. Hip Hop is very similar in many different aspects of music, as Hip Hop is also very much different in their own style of the way it influences people for many different reasons. Each is very driven to different people in the generation. In terms of Hip Hop, it discusses hating the police, selling drugs, even selling ourselves, shooting people, and the most common to almost all, belonging to a gang. Pop is more of the music you would listen to when you want to dance, going out with friends, more of an expression of your feelings in the moment. Pop comes with beats and melodies to modern day music to build your positivity. You have artists like Madonna, Michael Jackson, Will.I.Am, etc. It was originated in the 30’s through the 50’s and 60’s. Pop music made that slight merge to the modern form originating from Rock and Roll. Pop music speaks to more of trying to keep you out of negative thought and want to get up and dance and have dominant harmony in the music and tonic. We as a society say that Pop stands out and talks to the teenage generation as well as the younger generation, but nothing in my opinion will speak to the younger generation than Hip Hop will with as accurate lifestyles and truth and connections musically and or
