More people died during the bombings than they would have if America invaded Japan. In Hiroshima and Nagasaki almost two-hundred thousand people were injured or killed. There are still people suffering the effects of the atomic bombs today. Many people that lived near the impact sites and survived have been entered into a radiation study.
Also, a lot of people died in both the bombing of NAgasaki and Hiroshima. A chart shows that 135,000 people either died or were injured somehow, and at Nagasaki 64,000 people were killed or injured, proving that there is no way every single one of those people hurt were military. In the United States, it is often taught that the use of nuclear weapons in Hiroshima and Nagasaki was the deciding factor for the Japanese to surrender during World War II. However, upon closer inspection that may not be the reason why. For example, by the time both cities were destroyed Japan had already lost dozens of cities to American fire bombs and conventional raids. As a result, the only difference between the cities that were previously burned and Hiroshima and Nagasaki was the type of weapon used. Therefore,the Japanese government was aware and accustomed to loosing cities and large number of civilian lives.
Wilfred Burchett, an Australian Journalist visited the once thriving Japanese city of Hiroshima, just one month after the devastating atomic bomb and did not approve of the devastation it caused. The bomb (little boy) was dropped over the city, killing over 70,000 people and injuring the same number. He was the first correspondent to enter Hiroshima after the bomb was dropped. “I was people in who … are dying … from these effects of bombing … They lost their appetites, their hair fell out … their flesh began rotting away from their bones” (Source A.).
On the clear mornings of August 6 and 9, 1945, the first atomic bombs were dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagaski. Gigantic clouds of ominous dark smoke stained the sky, signaling the end of a seemingly incessant war. Americans and Europeans rejoiced throughout the world; many lives were spared from the brutality of continuing the war. Although this was an extremely hard decision to make and the results were devastating, the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a military necessity. To begin, America had already seen how ruthless and cruel the Japanese could be.
It also had long lasting effects that still impact Japanese lives. In the newspaper by Jack Doherty headlined ¨Atomic Bomb Fury Hits Japan¨ after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the president said, ¨It was to spare the Japanese people from utter destruction.¨ Yet, look where it has gone and how much damage it had cost Japan. I encourage you to not listen to these statements as if they were true, and right the wrongs the atomic bombs have done to Japan by unjustifying the act and telling others to do so as
On August 6,1945 Hiroshima and Nagasaki were attacked by atomic bombs that were dropped by the U.S Military. Over 200,000 people were killed. The United States used the bomb to end the war with Japan, which began in 1941 when Japan launched an unprovoked attack on Pearl Harbor. Many people believe that dropping the atomic bombs was the right thing to do because if they did not use it, there would be four more years of fighting and hundreds of thousands more US soldiers would have died because the Japanese refused to surrender.
It was a calm August morning in the year 1945, and citizens were out living their lives as normal, getting groceries, playing at the park, and walking to work, little did everyone in what was the beautiful town of Hiroshima know, there was an atomic bomb right above their heads. Some people survived the bomb by pure chance like by “[throwing] [themselves] between two large rocks” (Heresy 835) to save themselves. Conventional bombs were more destructive to cities because they started fires and it was not just one and done. The conventional bombing methods killed more people than the atomic bomb. The bomb also saved millions of American lives by avoiding a land invasion. The bomb also helped end the war also saving the lives of soldiers from other countries.

On August 6th, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima and killed around 100,000 people and left the city in ruins.

By the end of WWII, Japan and America weren’t in good relations. In an attempt to end the war and obtain revenge back on Japan, America released an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. The vast majority of the city turned to ruins.
According to U.S. estimated, 60,000 to 70,000 people were killed by the bomb, 140,000 were injured many more were made homeless as a result of the bomb and some of them were missing. A very dangerous radiation reached over 100,000 kilometers. In the blast, thousands of people died instantly. The city is completely destroyed, there are 90,000 buildings and 60,000 of them were completely destroyed by the explosion. In all, approximately 33% or ⅓ of Hiroshima is completely destroyed.
