Background statement: Heritage Valley Medical Center has had a wonderful reputation for providing excellent health care services to their community. Initially, their community was 80% Caucasian, 40% African American, and 5% Hispanic. However, in the last 5 years, the population has changed to more minorities and the whites have moved out to the suburbs. This caused the Center’s occupancy rate to go down 40% because many of their traditional, more affluent, private-pay patients had left the neighborhood. To bring in revenue, they campaigned to bring in more Medicaid patients.

Within the early 19th century, the practice of medicine was disorganized and contained poor quality care. There were several organizations and individuals that joined together in an effort to correct this underlying problem. Founded in 1847, the American Medical Association encouraged Abraham Flexner to further research into this problem which later led to his final report in 1910 called the Report to the Carnegie Foundation. The report documented the state of the nation’s medical schools and major hospitals which proved to be in an unacceptable state. Another pioneer named Ernest Codman of Boston Massachusetts General Hospital advised the need to improve hospital conditions and track patients to ensure the care provided was effective and valuable.

Every state in the US has an affiliated chapter branching from the national organization that advocates for all Physician Assistants, known as the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). The American Academy of Physician Assistants handles licensing requirements, networking opportunities, job resources, and provides tools to improve PA practice and patient care for each state and federal service chapter. These individual state affiliations branching from the AAPA are pertinent to the Physician Assistant profession because they allow for more direct and local resources for Physician Assistants. Having an individual state chapter makes it easier to find local jobs in the area and get answers to questions about each state law requirement.
March 9, 2017 Aspen Wayment History of Physician Assistants There were many events leading up to the origination of the physician assistant. The military necessity in times of war was one of these events that induced the use of “non-physicians” and helped pave a pathway for physician assistants. In 1940 a highly respected physician trained his own “doctor’s assistant” to tend his patients while he was away receiving further medical education. This event was a major success and a brief example of what was to come a mere fifteen years later.

Professional organizations uphold its members and try to improve nursing practice. Professional organizations can serve as a voice in government. There is power in numbers. A community is a group of people who either share a common interest such as church, school, or a geographic location such as a neighborhood, town or city (Mason, Gardner, & O'Grady, 2016). By participating in community outreach programs, nurses use their knowledge, skills, and experience to improve the community's health.
There are many stakeholders involved with health care administrations. Those stakeholders can be patients, health care physician, insurance providers, pharmaceutical manufactures, hospital organizations, community clinics and government. Each different stakeholder has their own individual vision of health care administration. This causes conflict due to the nature and differences in vision. which then can cause conflicts among each stakeholder involved.
