David Suzuki is an award-winning Canadian scientist, environmentalist and science broadcaster. Since the start of his career, he has made a difference in both Canadian society and the world by immeasurably improving the lives of others. He has been actively contributing to improve the environment and to spread awareness to the world of the negative consequences it can face if the environmental issues were to be ignored. His most prominent and effective contribution to the Canadian society and the world is the creation of The David Suzuki Foundation, whose aim is to conserve the environment and to create a sustainable Canada through science-based research, education and policy work. The foundation has launched a number of successful programs that have a common goal of improving the Canadian society by solving many Global issues. Their top goals include, protecting Canada’s climate by providing clean energy solutions, ensuring that Canadians enjoy the right to live in a healthy environment, transforming the Canadian economy, and rebuilding Canada’s community. With the help of his foundation, Suzuki has constantly informed the public about the global crisis and environmental issues. And encourages them to be active in making a positive change for the environment and society. David Suzuki has had an amazing broadcasting career over the past 30 years. His journey started in 1979 with him hosting the television show “The Nature of Things”. This series was aired in over 50 countries worldwide. He also is the host of the series “The Secrets of Life”, and in 1985 he won the United Nations Environment Program Medal for his efforts in his hit television series “A Planet for the Taking” which attracted 1.8 million viewers per episode. David has also published over 30 books all about the environment and ways that we can protect mother earth. He has been rewarded with numerous awards and honors for his successful and continuous works. In 1976 he had won Canada’s most prestigious award, the ‘Order of Canada Officer’ award.
