Why is America so violent? The United States of America is known for its independence and freedom but how does the world see us? Violence is one of the many things the US are known for sometimes violence can 't be helped but most times it can be. Meaningless violence in our cities are big thing in today’s culture there 's people getting killed over unnecessary things like shoes, clothes, games, and just for no reason and heres another story of meaningless violence. Hitchbot was a friendly robot that was created in Port Credit, Ontario by canadian researchers to see if he could make it in the world by just hitchhiking off strangers. Last summer, Hitchbot hitchhiked across Canada to Halifax, Nova Scotia to Victoria, British Columbia. In just 26 days it hitchhiked a total of 19 rides and travelled over 10,000 kilometers. Hitchbot journey continued as it visited Germany to explore cities like Munich, Berlin, and Hamburg. Hitchbot also took a vacation in the Netherlands to see some of the most …show more content…

August 1, 2015 was the date the hitchhiking robot journey sadly ended when he reached Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he was vandalized and destroyed by an unknown stranger. While they will probably never figure out who killed Hitchbot or why the death of the robot only goes to show how unnecessarily violent our culture is when Hitchbot can make it through Canada and Europe without a scratch but can only last two weeks in America and it gets destroyed.It would be an interesting time to see why the assailant did it and was it necessary, was the attack simply the work of teenagers who, had the bot not been available, would the vandals have vandalized something else? Hitchbot’s fate was a sad one but a wake up to the nation to try to solve why our culture is so violent enough to destroy a helpless robot that was a simple mission.We can related the Hitchbot story any story of any person just walking down the street and getting mugged and beat up for no reason or for personal
