Jon Meacham’s, Keeping the Dream Alive(2012), claims that at the time America was not that appreciated and was trying to improve and spread what they call the American Dream. The author develops his theory by introducing John Updike’s book called Rabbit Redux and how Rabbit tries to clamps the freedom of this country, explaining how back then in the 19th and 20th century they would almost never talk about Chinese, Russian or the French dream and now the subject is much more open and how many people believe that the american Dream is to be able to have a good job. Meacham’s point in this section is that times have changed and in order to acomplish this more people had too mention other sorts of “American Dreams” which does signify how most people
“The original term ‘American Dream’ was coined during the Great Depression by James Truslow Adams, who wrote that the American dream ‘is that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability and achievement, regardless of social class or circumstances of birth’ ” (573). He then addresses the views of liberal economists and activists, who think the American dream is dead, using facts from a survey done in 2009 by the New York Times. Essentially, the “survey found that 72 percent of Americans still believed it was possible to start poor, work hard, and become rich in America” (573).
The American Dream has a different meaning from what it once was, but according to Brandon King it is still alive. His beginning question, “What is the true state of the so-called ‘American Dream’ today” (Page #610, Para. #1) appeals to his audience’s own thoughts of his or her own personal beliefs for their futures. Most people have an idea of what they want in life, and their dream may not be the rags to riches dream of yesteryear, but is uniquely theirs.
American Dream Does the American Still hold the American dream? I believe that it is very possible for a citizen of America to live that tradition American Dream; paying bills without worries, giving their children a start to an even better life then they had and still save enough to live comfortably after they retire to live that happy free life. In reading "Let America Be America Again," it sites in line four of the poem "seeking a home where he himself is free." That represented the people's freedom and with the Declaration of Independence that will protect our freedoms and rights .
The American Dream is it dead or alive? There are still a few people that believe the American Dream is still alive and is still achievable. Others think it is dead and is a thing of the past. Some believe the American Dream is having a successful job and being financially stable and living in a well furnished house. Some would say that is not possible to achieve the American Dream from coming from a poor upbringing.
The American dream is a term used in a lot of ways. Although research has shown that American dream can’t be attainable by most people, closer examination shows that it can be attainable by the following reasons. As Daniel J. Mitchell stated in New York Times im January 1st, 2015 “The United States is not a perfect country, but the American Dream is still a reality.” By that he meant that even with America’s Grow rate, poverty, unemployment rate in the past years and still going Americans can still chase their American dreams If we look at the history and the definition it shows that infact it is possible to attain it.
The American Dream is Attainable Dreaming of success, a bright future, or even hope? An idea placed in the Declaration of Independence, The American Dream has been a beacon of hope to many; however, does The American Dream really exist? Some can and will argue that it’s dead, and that it isn’t achievable. I believe it’s alive, but it has to be realistic. By being realistic, anything could be possible, but only with the amount of effort put forth.

The real question is, is the American Dream a reality, or is it just a dream? To me the American dream is making money, a supporting loving family, and having a career you love. I think that many people come to the U.S. looking for their own idea of The American Dream, but in my opinion I’m not sure how much of the american dream still exist. There is many obstacles for the dream; endless you 're born into your wildest dream. For immigrants coming from different countries grasping their dream can be very hard.

The American Dream does indeed still exist in todays society, and it is one 's job to try their hardest to succeed the values of their own American Dream. The American Dream is still alive and available to everyone today, although it is different for everyone. The American Dream is what each individual believes it to be and does not have a set definition, it is whatever the person believes it to be and it still possible for everyone. America still provides access to opportunity for everyone from the people who are born in poverty to the people that are born into wealth. While lately there has been much debate over whether the American Dream is still alive and well and many people believe that it is dead, there are considerable proof and evidence that the American Dream is developing and thriving. First of all, in the American Constitution, it states “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
The American Dream does not exist in the present anymore, thus all of the American Dream should be from past time periods. The American Dream is not dead, it still exist today. But it is seen differently than the ones people usually read in the books. The American Dream exist in many different format and can be interpreted in many ways.
Many people have asked them self if The American dream still alive? As many ask them self this question many do say it’s still alive but many say it’s not. They have provent why The american dream is alive still. But in fact The American Dream is still alive for many Immigrants and other people that live in the United states. Many have come to this states, because they see that The American Dream Can help them better their lives.
Dreams can come true if you believe and never give up. The American Dream consists of a national idea that success and prosperity are things to continually strive for. There are many diverse opinions and reasons that people get idea that the American Dream is alive or dead. It is the different stories that are told as examples, that give viewers their opinions. People can twist words in ways that can make the americans hopeful that the american dream is alive, and change it into ways that the american dream is dead.
Everyone has a dream. Although these dreams aren’t the ones you have while sleeping, they are the ones that drive you, challenge you and keep you fighting for the reality that they will become true. They are the dreams that you will work hard for. Martin Luther King Jr. even died while fighting for his dream to become a reality. They are the ones you hope will one day become a reality.
