In the book The Mostly True Stories of Homer P. Figg by Rodman Philbrick, bravery is the most dominant of all Homer’s character traits. First of all, Homer’s most dominant character trait is bravery because he goes out into the dark forest alone in order to save Harold. After Harold is sold to the Union Army, Homer and Squint are the only people left living on the farm. Homer could be guaranteed food, shelter, water, and clothing if he stays, but instead he is courageous risks his life to get Harold back. Also, Homer tells us that he is afraid of the dark.
