The Novel I read for the first quarter is “The Honest Truth” by Dan Gemeinhart and this novel plays more of a slow book and sometimes fast pace. This novel is very detailed and action packed with several main characters including Mark and his special dog Beau. They go on a adventure leaving home which leads them to wandering across the united states with his notebook and other things from his backpack but mainly his only friend there is his dog Beau. His family and friends are really worried sick about him and wondering when will he come home.
It starts off in the beginning where Mark packs up his bags and leaves town with his notebook, camera, haiku poems, and of course his dog Beau. Beau is his one of his best

Rainer he starts to wonder how he can buy any more food or other things because he got mugged and he lost out on twenty dollars and he 's a little mad but at least he has his closest friend right next to him, Beau. On his journey he gets worried about this big storm that 's supposed to beat him up pretty hard. He gets frustrated because he already has bumps and bruises and he 's thinking why this? Then a kind stranger is on the road and sees a boy that looked similar to Mark on the news and the man in the car stopped and had a good glance at the boy and realizes that it was mark and the kind man gives mark and his dog, Beau a ride to his destination and when they get there they prepare themselves for what 's about to hit them. Then on there adventure they climb and climb and with the rough storm they get into some trouble with coldness and ice appears on there track and beau slips and falls down but Mark gets to save his best friend Beau and go find shelter and crash there for the night close to the peek of the mountain. After they reach their destination Mark thinks about his family members and his other best friend Jessie. Jessie is worried sick about his best friend Mark and she 's thinking for awhile and she said should I go save him or let him go
