Hope Hope is the only thing that keeps you dry in a storm. Hope is when you are given something provide off of during a disappointing moment. It is something that is given to help, not to hurt. In Copper Sun by Sharon M. Draper which the main character Amari has been transported from Africa to the Americas to become a slave for Mr.Derby. The plot story of Copper Sun is similar to “Hope is the thing with feathers” by Emily Dickinson because they both show the power of hope.
Samuel Smiles, a scottish author and governor, said, “Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.” Roland Smith wrote a great short story based on the topic of hope and determination. Roland Smith wrote a short story, “The Ghost Bird”. Hope is alive and can be found in more places than one might expect. In Lisel Mueller’s poem, “Hope”, Mueller uses metaphors to describe hope and show that it can be found in many places. Let’s start with the first stanza. In the first 3 lines of the poem, Mueller describes how hope can sometime “hide” from us. She says that it “(…) hovers in dark corners until the lights are turned on,” showing that hope can seem nowhere to be found sometimes (lines 1-2).

Hopes, dreams, and goals allow people to get through any trouble in life and better themselves so they can achieve personal happiness.
Hope, what does hope to mean to you. To me, hope means that we have set an expectation and we expect ourselves and those around us to achieve that expectation. Hope is the reason that this whole book was written. Sean Covey wrote this book to give us hope so that we would be able to change our lives. First, we must start with ourselves, and then we can focus on others.
