The Story of an hour vs The Interlopers. “The story of an Hour” and “The Interlopers”. Both stories have many differences in many ways, both are set in different times; each having a different meaning for their story and yet they both creep towards the end in the same way. “The Story of an Hour” and “The Interlopers” are perfect examples of how the expected does not always happen. The differences in the two short stories are easy spotted. In “The Story of an Hour” we read that Mrs. Louise Mallard receives news that her husband has died. When she hears the news of her husband she goes to her room and cries bitterly. You would expect her to die of grieve but instead she finds new light of the situation. We learn that she felt confined and restrained in her marriage but now she feels free. She leaves her room with a new sense of purpose, but as she walks down the stairs with her sister the unexpected happens her husband walks through the door. The whole ordeal was a big misunderstanding. She then feels her newfound freedom shatter around her and dies right there on the spot from a heart attack. …show more content…
It begins with these two men in a forest hunting each other. But what they Expect is that a big storm is coming there way. When they finally find one another, lightning strikes a nearby tree that falls on-top of the them. The rest of the story they go from hate-filled words to each other to kindness and friendship to each other. Peace is found. Each character have men looking for them and each has agreed that they will save the other with whichever man is saved first. Toward the end, one of the men thinks he sees and hears his men coming for them, so they call out to them so that they may come faster.
