This text was made by Ann Hodgman who is an American author from several children’s books, cook books, humor books and many magazine articles. In some way, I agree with her when she details the dog’s food components, however USDA normally alert to the consumer about the different ingredients from the food and, also our taste buds are not comparable with a regular dog which is simpler than a regular human.

Ann Hodgman is trying to explain to the people different characteristics of the dog’s food which is a subject that she is related because of her knowledge about pets, for instance, in her book “The House of a Million Pets” She shows her life with pets, such as: pigs, rabbits, dog, hamster… Besides, she was the person that tasted by herself the food comparing peculiarities as: flavors, texture, presentation, and brands. She writes smooth and direct to the point because she wants to describe every single kind of food that she ate. She sort them in categories: when is wet and with a soy flavor (cycle 1), greasy and fat (cycle2), lite (cycle 3), smaller than the other kind (cycle 4). Furthermore, She analyzes the wet and dry food. Most of the wet food in her opinion was very lumpy or without the right texture or flavor, but when she started with the dry food she enjoyed and even she argued that the “Gravy Train” was exactly the flavor as a regular gravy, except for a rancid fat flavor at the beginning.

The other important idea that she tries to express to all readers is about the Purina (Optional Nutritional Effectiveness) which indicates that is very rich and palatable, but with a lot of fat, trying to put the food as “very fatty” and only Purina put some good announcements as references with the hair coat and skin for people buying the
