Emily Giarrizzo Ms. McGinnity Honors English II 18 November 2015 The beauty of William Shakespeare does not lie his writing, but in the theme in which each of his plays suggest. The speech Marc Antony delivered has an immense impact on the minds of the citizens in Rome through the influence of devices, language, and details. While using a manipulative and powerful tone, he manages to sway a whole crowd while hiding his intentions of revenge and maintaining a neutral ground throughout the entirety of his monologue.
Throughout history, the realities of contemporary cultural climates have always been subject to the analysis of the writers and artists of the day. This is no less true in the context of Elizabethan England; as Louis Montrose puts it, “the ruler and the ruled are construable as subjects … shaped within a shared conjuncture of cultural forms and social relations, who jointly reshaped that conjuncture in the continuous process of performing, speaking, picturing, and writing” (3). Arguably the most famous of all of Elizabethan creatives, Shakespeare, contributed vastly to this reshaping of the relationship between ruler and subject. Josquin des Prez’ Impact on the Renaissance Era Josquin des Prez held vast knowledge about composing complex polyphonic melodies which lead him to become a very large influence of music during the Renaissance era. Since his music had been influenced by the famous Dutch composer Johannes Ockeghen, Joaquin des Prez’ early sacred music demonstrated contrapuntal complexity which was not seen in the works of other influential Renaissance composers such as Pierre de La Rue at this time. From Josquin’s understanding of notation, he then simplified his compositions into short recognizable phrases and continuously passed these phrases from one voice to another using his knowledge of the contrapuntal technique. Shakespeare, also known as the “Bard of Avon” (the nickname was provided by wikipedia), is one of the most famous and influential authors of english literature. In September 2008, at the Catholic University of America in Washington DC, Michael Mack (a professor) presented his opinion on the value of reading Shakespeare as a speech to college freshman. While presenting his opinion, Mack makes a compelling argument that even though reading Shakespeare is hard, it is worth it in the end and not only is it as important as other courses you may take in college but you will also gain something from it. His use of rhetorical devices and claims helps him support his argument.
In addition to their previous work with TKAM, students were given an introduction on how to read and understand the language of Shakespeare. Another tool they are learning to utilize appropriately is the “modern translation” of Shakespeare that is included in each of their texts. In general, they still have not mastered the process of understanding Shakespearean language, which is why my learning segment focuses on interpreting and supporting character analysis.

William Shakespeare seems indestructible. He has never been score and or rejected, his works have never sunk into a oblivion. On the contrary, each seceding generation has revered Shakespeare as the greatest of playwrights. His plays have nearly been on the stage for for centuries, and his popularity shows no signs of abating. Although peoples attitudes towards the place have not changed; the methods of presenting the players have often changed.

By studying Shakespeare and by going deeper through analyzing and getting preoccupied with, we learn how to “brainstorm” the people, the culture and the ethics of that era and create opinions and thoughts about those centuries. In my opinion, Shakespeare is a modern, a contemporary artist and writer of his era who “sends” and passes messages through his plays. Each one of us, the readers and learners of Shakespeare, creates a special, unique opinion about Shakespeare and literature in general. We do not all think in the same way, people are unique.

Shakespeare 's works should not be taught to students in schools because it’s difficult for students to understand, his work is not culturally diverse, and is outdated for today’s students. First, it’s difficult for many students to understand Shakespeare’s dialogue.

Shakespeare has contributed to many well-known phrases that are still used to this day, showing his significance in history.
In the twenty-first century, the plays of William Shakespeare may at first appear dated and irrelevant: they use archaic language, are set in the age of Kings and Queens, and the Kingdom of England. However, it would be plainly mistaken to construe that Shakespeare’s works do not still remain integral to a twenty-first century society. Shakespeare’s plays gave the words and expressions one uses every day, revolutionized the art of theater as it was known, and forewarned about issues that would unknowingly still apply centuries later. Therefore, Shakespeare has had a profound effect on our lives by enriching our language and culture, as well as providing ideas that would still apply five centuries later, and it would thus behoove us to learn from his works and life.
In this essay I will discuss the entire life of William Shakespeare, what it was influenced by in terms of spirituality, ideal and social force behind his work (arts). Further, the challenges he faced both personally and professionally in pursuing social relevance in his plays and the historical significance portrayed in his whole work. Also, I will discuss the development and times of the Elizabethan theatre with the Elizabethan ideal of the core and how Shakespeare was influential in that period. Lastly I will reflect on the elements of Macbeth as a genre to illustrate my research findings.
