1. Papyrus Ebers This Egyptian artifact is one of the earliest documents related to the practice of pharmacy and list of medications. The Papyrus Ebers actually shared a lot of base routes of administration with modern pharmacy such as ointments, creams, suspensions, tablets, and many other common ways to administer drugs. This document was one of the first large written accounts of early pharmaceutical practice.1 2. Andrew Craigie Andrew Craigie was the first person to ever be appointed apothecary general. His duties, after being appointed, were to be in charge of making sure the sick in the Revolutionary War had all of the vital medical necessities that they needed. She was one of the first females to be a paid staff member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Cooper also was the founder Kappa Epsilon, which was the first pharmacy sorority. On top of all of these accomplishments she was also the first female to reside as president of the prestigious Rho Chi Society.2 8. Harvey A.K. Whitney Harvery Whitney was the first person to establish an internship program for pharmacy, much like today’s residency program. He also was creator of many hospital pharmacy practices.
