Andrew Jackson was a powerful president born in South Carolina on March 15, 1767. Sadly, he grew up up without a father and his mother died of illness only a few years after. Not only did his parents die but soon his whole family would too as a result of the war. Andrew Jackson had to fight for himself at a very young age and work his way up to become president being known as a self-made man, which appealed to many voters. Andrew Jackson deserves to be on the twenty dollar bill because he gave the common people the opportunity to vote, was a military hero and his actions taking apart the bank. First

In the first place he joined the army force only at the age of 13. During his time as a soldier he was captured by the british soldiers with his brother who was very ill and once they were released died. Even after his traumatic experiences he kept fighting! As he continued to fight he moved up the chain and ended up leading an army to victory at the battle of New Orleans. The whole town praised his victory and he became a national hero. The Battle of New Orleans was a big victory because the wee outnumbered and only 20 died. To further prove that Andrew Jackson was a hero is that he signed the treaty of fort jackson. This prevented destruction. Although it stopped the war it did force the creek people to give up nearly 22 million acres of their land. The Natives had lost 300,000 worth of stuff. Although they never repaid fully they did pay back a portion of the money. He also applied them in a stable amount of food . In order to gain more land for the country, Jackson drove the Natives out of their land and killed thousands. Even though these actions were horrid he paid them to move and gave them the entire year while also sending them to another part of america. Not to mention, he did this to make sure that the people could have more farming land and so he could expand america. It must be remembered that it would be redundant to give people who already have tons of money more money to buy luxurie when the commons need money to feed their families.
