It’s amazing how one tiny or huge decision can have such a huge effect. How so much trouble could be avoided if a simple factor was known. As in “Desiree’s Baby”, Kate Chopin wrote about how Armand saw African Americans in such a negative way and treated them in such a terrible way. He saw himself superior than African Americans, that when he gained knowledge that he was also was African American he was devastated at himself. Armand ‘s parent was wrong by keeping the truth of his racial heritage because his attitude could have been different towards African American if he knew the truth about his background.
