The French Revolution occurred from 1789 to the late 1790s. It was influenced by Enlightenment ideals, during this time the French citizens reformed their country’s administrative backbone and removed complete monarchy. This age is also referred to as the Age of Enlightenment, especially since there was a radical reorientation in European science, government, and way of life. With many changes and influences brought by the revolution, artist gained a new inspiration. These inspirations have been displayed through literature, paintings, sculptures, and sketches. The French Revolution was verged by two artistic styles, Neoclassical and Romantic. Neoclassicism (also called "classicism")was the predominant movement in European art and architecture during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
