There was a development with the first airplane that involved three men and their invention. The third man was Charles E. “Charlie” Taylor who loved cigars and he was known as a quite genius and loved the sound of machinery. If it was not for Charlie that first powered airplane would never have gotten off the ground, this was one of the greatest achievements. In May 24, 1868 Charlie Taylor was born he had a little farm in Cerro Gordo, IL.
He moved to Lincoln, NE with his family and Charlie actually quite school at the age of twelve. He went to work as an errand boy in Nebraska State Journal. At the age of 20 he moved to Kearney and while he was there he met a young woman which he had married and had two children, his wife’s name was Herietia Webbert this was back in 1892.

In Dayton where Charlie met the Wrights they also rented a building on West 3rd street. The connection was convenient in the 1898 when Charlie had started to own his own shop which was a machine shop. Later Charlie had sold the tool shop for money and later he started working for Dayton Electric Co. When the Wright brothers asked him to work for them to earn 18.00 per week he accepted it so he had no problem to quite the job he had before. What was cool is that he could ride his bike to work because it was only six blocks from where he lived and he actually liked the Wright brothers a whole lot. He started working with them in June on the fifteenth of 1901. They had many trips to Kitty Hawk their experiments were with gliders. They decided information then was available and when they would decide to build a small wind tunnel and force. Building the tunnel was one of the first jobs Taylor and the Wright brothers they had connection with aircraft.
