From the surface, it’s not as appealing. The painting is small in size and uses muted colors. but what makes special is the technique Da Vinci used to make this world renowned painting. Da Vinci was a perfectionist and spent lots of time trying to get every detail in his paintings right, which was why a majority of his paintings were never completed. In fact, it took him twelve whole years just for him to paint the details on the lips of the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa is special because of the close attention to detail that was paid in making the painting.
