Ancient Egypt was a civilization whose greatness resonates today. Territorial expansion, philosophical understanding of the afterlife, and the erection of monuments so that for all time, this greatness would be known. From 1479 to 1213 B.C., three Egyptian pharaohs exhibited greatness by breaking rules expanding the territory Egypt controlled, and celebrating their Empire’s immense power. These great pharaohs knew his or her personal strengths and used the power of the throne to achieve greatness directly aligned with those strengths. Hatshepsut, Egypt’s female self proclaimed pharaoh, exercised her influence away from the military, which had been the focus of the leaders before her. Ramses II won battles at a very young age. - He was fourteen years old when he first became pharaoh. - For example, the Hittites tried to test him when he entered the throne by invading his land. Ramses II decided to invade them. However, he was tricked and attacked again. Though, Ramses II did not give up. He invaded them once more and eventually won the battle. For over 250 years, three pharaohs of Egypt, Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, and Ramses II, advanced Egypt’s influence in the world by focussing on their own passions and strengths. In so doing, each pharaoh delivered for Egypt lasting change. For Hatshepsut, it was the introduction of trade to fuel the economy and create peace and prosperity. For Thutmose III, it was his conquests that created the expansion of Egypt. Lastly, for Ramses II, his passion for celebrating the greatness of Egypt fortified the growth inspired by the two pharaohs before
