Sam Phillips listened to it and instantly liked it, he then made the decision to create a record staring Elvis Presley.

Later in his life he was drafted into the military and spent time at Fort Hood in Texas where he would write songs for his album G.I. Blues. While in the Military he would be stationed in Germany where he would find his wife Priscilla Presley.
Raised in northwest Mississippi, I grew up only a few minutes from Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis is a very historic place and is known nationwide for many things such as the rich background of music. Many famous musicians and singers were born and raised in the great city. Arguably the most famous musician/singer of them all was Elvis Aaron Presley, The King of Rock ’n’ Roll. Elvis was born in Tupelo, Mississippi to Vernon and Gladys Presley and later moved to Memphis in 1948.
Presley then entered the sixth grade and attends Milam Junior High School. At the school’s invitation, Presley sung another song and everyone loved it. By 1947, Elvis Presley had found a music hero, ‘Mississippi Slim’. ‘Mississippi Slim’ was a hillbilly singer who allowed Presley to perform.
As a boy he spent his years living with his family in his hometown Tupelo, and he a had also shared two-room house. The stages of becoming a teen he then moved and lived in Memphis, Tennessee. When finishing High School in 1953, Elvis began driving a delivery truck for the Crown Electric Company,

Elvis moved at a young age because his parents each got a new job in Memphis. At the age 19, he had a job (McRee, 2008). Elvis knew many kinds of music from going to different places in Memphis. Elvis was a misfit in school because he was shy and dressed different (Schinder, 2007). Elvis would get his hipster clothes from Beale Street and would listen to African American music there (Krull, 2006).
