The Great Depression was a very tragic event that affected millions of people during the 1930’s. Some of the basic problems were as follows: The event was caused by 30 billion dollars lost in the stock market crash back in the midst end of 1929. Another problem was no one had any money left after withdrawing money from their accounts. Then it wasn’t long before the banks started shutting down and no one had anything left. Our president wasn’t doing much to change the government at the time, so when Franklin Delano Roosevelt stepped in, he created the New Deal. It helped the government in many ways. One was it introduced the 3 R’s. Relief for the unemployed, Recovery to stimulate the economy, and Reform to change laws to prevent another economic crisis. Along with it, it introduced a bunch of new companies and acts to help put millions back to work, regain their wealth, etc. So this clearly states in my opinion that government needs to be more aware of the changes that FDR made and execute similar programs to today’s government. And one of them was called the National Recovery Administration(NRA). It was a positive change because a lot was put into making this company. For example, its job was to set quality standards for what was appropriate at that time, production levels, prices, maximum work hours, and minimum wages. They have a famous logo called the Blue Eagle. And it’s been widely spread since it came out. This company actually asked people if they could buy only from businesses who displayed that logo in hopes that this was a start of a life changing solution. Because of all of this taking place, it did not only put unemployed back to work, it created over 2 million jobs to expand the market to even more unemployed
