Through the development of Forrest Gump, he made some positive changes that benefited other people’s life. He helped a variety of people in Vietnam by saving many of his fellow comrades from the bombs which were moments away from killing them. This left a lasting impact on all of the people who Forrest saved as they were granted another day. Lieutenant Dan was originally ungrateful, but over time he realised that Forrest had done the right thing. Originally lieutenant Dan wanted to die because his past relatives had died in battle and he wanted to continue the legacy. But he came to terms that life wasn’t over, so himself and Forrest started the shrimping business. Forrest gave Lieutenant Dan hope and faith. The Bubba Gump shrimping business which Forrest and Bubba thought of in the war made a large amount of money. Forrest decided to give a proportion of his earnings to Bubba’s family as without Bubba the business would have never started. Forrest saw the business as equally theirs as it was his. This was because Forrest had made a new friend apart from Jenny and Bubba, this made him feel mature and accomplished. Furthermore, he felt that even though he had a low IQ he could make a massive difference to people’s life. The creation of Bubba Gump’s Shrimping business made Forrest feel accomplished as he had made such a difference in Bubba’s families life by setting them up for life with the gift of money.
