As a lead guitarist in one of the most influential boy bands, a singer-songwriter, popstar, recording artist, and producer, George Harrison filled quite a roll in England’s scene throughout the last half of the 20th century. Born February 25, 1943 in Liverpool, England to parents Harold & Louise French Harrison, George Harrison was the youngest of his three other siblings. Harrison’s family was not wealthy with his mother as a stay-at-home mom and his father driving school busses. Harrison was also not the most attentive or interested student, which was fueled by his discovery of his love for rock and roll.
His love for rock and roll stemmed from the first time Harrison heard the song “Heartbreak Hotel” by Elvis Presley. In fact, Harrison was 13 at the time and was riding his bike past a house that was playing it loudly. A year after this sudden infatuation with rock and roll, Harrison had bought himself a guitar and learned some chords on his own. Paul McCartney, who he met at the school his father drove busses for, was impressed with Harrison's musical abilities and talents.
