Ancient Greece had numerous contributions, but the area that the Greeks made the most important contributions was literature. One way is the Greek alphabet (new creation of writing). In other words the Greek Alphabet was really beneficial to the Greeks and society today. For instance, The Greeks came in contact with the phoenicians. The phoenicians used a script with an thirty word alphabet on it. They adopted the alphabet and upgraded it by adding vowels to it. It 's important to realize that the alphabet they used is similar to ours today. As a matter of fact we say or use the words in the alphabet everyday. Literature teaches us life lessons that are really beneficial. The language tragedy and comedy come from the Greeks. They performed plays on outdoor theaters, and entertained people with their tragedies and comedies. Greek tragedy and Comedy is very important because it provided the Greeks with a form of entertainment. Not only that, but it has influenced our society today because we have similar types of entertainment. To put it another way we got inspired by the Greeks form of entertainment. For instance, the Greek plays that were performed helped set a model of our entertainment today. Today we have actors who act out scenes/skits which provide us with a digital form of entertainment. Also known as watching shows/movies through a screen or watching tv. On the other hand Greeks performed comedies and tragedies in front of people. Comedies have a happy ending where a tragedy one person would suffer. Also the Greeks had a chorus that sung about adventures of gods or heroes.
