Industrialization most definitely altered American demographics. The American Industrial Revolution brought technological innovation, transportation, and education to cities. It wasn’t until after the Civil War when the industry began to make an impactful change. In any new nation there must be a sense of government and law. In this new nation, America, government and law came from one place, the church. There was nothing separating church from state until a strange occurrence started happening and this was called “The Great Awakening”. It was not started by anybody with strong political ties or money. This was coming from the average people of this new land of America and wanted to make a change and that is what they did.

In The Radicalism of the American Revolution, Gordon Woods analyzes just how crucial social change was during the Revolution, and how it helped develop American society, politics, and economics. The most drastic social change that came out of the revolution was the creation of an independent, republican society.
