A woman, who was born and raised in Maryland’s eastern shore as a slave as Araminta Ross. Later on getting married and changing her name to Harriet Tubman. Not long after, she left her family to break out of slavery through the Underground Railroad. Where she became a famous conductor. Harriet Tubman is an influential advocate of women's rights, through her actions of women’s suffrage and civil rights as an abolitionist and a suffragette. Harriet Tubman impacted woman’s right through women's suffrage. In 1898 “Tubman became involved in women’s suffrage giving speeches in Boston, New York and Washington.” “Timeline” She spoke out with the intention to provide and encourage woman’s right and equality of men and woman. “Harriet Tubman was especially interested in the rights of African American women. In 1896 when she was already frail, she was invited as a guest speaker at the first meeting of the National Association of Colored Women.
