Herbert Hoover was our 31st president of the United States of America. He became president right at the start of the great depression. Herbert Hoover had to figure out how to get america back onto its feet again. Herbert Hoover changed how he was going to fight the war against The Great Depression. He called for more Federal Assistance stating that's what they did to win the war and it was what they will do to win the war against the Depression. After this the RFC was created and they Emergency Relief and Construction Act. This later made two blunkers that reduces Hoover's Political standing. This happened in the first half of the 1930s. The issue dealt with farmers selling their products overseas at a loss. So to fix this they were going to import a tariff commission to that could adjust the rates of things being sold. The issue that Hoover had was he still supported a Debenture which kept the tax rate at the same amount overseas. He and congress battled over this for quite some time before they decided to resolve the issue in June of 1930.
One international issue Herbert Hoover faced was in 1931 when Japan invaded Manchuria. In 1929, a good amount of countries agreed to a treaty that was against war. Japan violated they treaty and many countries had to figure out what needed to be done. Hoover did not want to send the US military to fight the invasion. The United States practically did not want to recognize any territorial gains as an invasion by japan.

Another international issue that took place during Hoover’s presidency was being a good neighbor to central and latin american countries. Hoover hadn’t ee taken his oath of office when Hoover went he left to Latin America. He spent about 10 weeks taking to leaders and doing speeches. He wanted to insure that the U.S. would be friendly neighbor to the central and latin american countries. Hoover also put an end to the U.S. occupation of nicaragua.
