Should the TDSB switch to a year around school schedule? Should the TDSB switch to a year around school schedule? My three arguments that I would like to discuss of how they disagree against, “Should the TDSB switch to a year around school schedule”, are would affect farmers, there is no equality, and school is already long enough and students deserve a break. The TDSB shouldn’t switch to a year around school schedule.
I left friends that I’ve known since kindergarten. So when the fourth grade started, I was completely alone. I had to get to know my surroundings, try and meet new friends, and figure out how things worked around here. Then in the seventh grade, things really went downhill. That was when everything started to change.
A lot of stuff happened in eighth grade, some good, some bad. For one good thing, every time at the end of quarter, we would do nothing and just play games, eat pizza, and watch movies. All the bad things I can think about is just the bad grades I get on test sometimes like that. So the goods outweigh the bads.
in 1996. Shakur wrote intricate, socially nuanced lyrics: Miranda particularly admired “Brenda’s Got a Baby,” a verse narrative about a twelve-year-old girl who turns to prostitution after giving birth to her molester’s child. Shakur was also extremely undiplomatic, publicly calling out rappers he hated. Miranda recognized a similar rhetorical talent in Hamilton, and a similar, fatal failure to know when enough was enough. There was extraordinary dramatic potential in Hamilton’s story: the characteristics that allowed him to rise also insured his fall.
”It was very shocking, but it gradually became more comfortable.” “I’m pretty comfortable,” said Ellison Girod, another student optimistically beginning her first year at Conifer. ” I know a few teachers already and I really like it here, so it’s a lot easier. It seems a lot better than middle school and I feel like [the school year] is going to go well.”
At 5:45 AM the alarm on my phone blared some generic default tone that I had never gotten around to changing. This was probably the earliest I’ve ever gotten up in my entire life. I groggily removed myself from the pile of blankets on the floor that I had been sleeping in and headed for the shower, brushed my teeth, washed my face and searched my near empty closet for something to wear on my first day of school. Although I was absolutely exhausted and there was yet to be any furniture in my room, I was thrilled to be transferring to Pattonville High School in midst of my junior year and living in a bigger house in a better community.
Change is something the whole world goes through at one point or another in their lives, but what’s vital is what we chose to do with that change. It was the summer of 2005, the weather outside was as heavy as an anvil, nevertheless this was the norm in south Florida. My childhood was one to reminisce. Life was perfect, but that all altered when my parents said we were moving to Atlanta Georgia. Things weren’t as easy as I thought they would be, but my biggest reason was my school
I could focus more; I wasn't always talking or forgetting something. I was always about my work and that was it. I was on AB Honor Roll the entire year. Each year got better for me. I never knew my life would change drastically at the age of six.
This is my last year of primary school, and it has sure been a roller coaster of emotions. Specifically I am finally planning my future for myself and I do not think anyone realizes how amazing it feels to finally “know” where you are headed. From eighth grade being devastated over one C in science out of all A’s, to falling behind junior year, and to trying the hardest I ever have to succeed my senior year, I am ready to make these immense
6th grade began and and with it started a new year. On the first day me and
I woke up early and put on the clothes that I had laid out from the night before. I went to the kitchen grabbed a Poptart and headed out the door to find the bus coming up my street. Walking onto the bus gave me a whiff of Expo Markers and and an overload of Axe cologne that I’m guessing an awkward teenage boy showered in. I sat on the hard, poorly cushioned seat next to a small girl with pigtails and a Doc Mcstuffins backpack. Man, this is my first day of being in the Middle School; first day of sixth grade, I thought to myself.
But not even the best of my imagined scenes could compare to the real scene I am greeted with right now. Do you remember how it all started? On the first day of 6th grade, we timidly went from class to class, hoping that we would be
In 2009, my family moved from the city to the suburbs. A lot of the things changed for the better; safer neighborhoods, better schools . . . it had seemed as if we 'd made it. But all that changed after the first day of school.
Eighth grade has been an unexpected but fantastic year. I expected it to be like my seventh grade year, long, boring, easy work, and only a couple of my friends are in my classes. Boy, I was wrong. Eighth grade has been a completely different adventure. The classrooms smell like people trying to hard to smell good, sometimes it gives me a major headache!
I had many fun experiences in 8th grade. Although I am very excited to move on to highschool, I will miss 8th grade as well. I learned many things in 8th grade. I learned a lot about U.S. history and I found physics very interesting. Algebra and Spanish, the two high school classes that I took this year were quite challenging but very rewarding.
