Idi Amin (Appendix 1) was born in 1928 in Kampala, Uganda. He was son to Assa Assate and Amin Dada. While being relatively unknown to the public in the west, those that know him believe he was a “brutal tyrant who ruled Uganda with an iron fist … responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent Ugandans (Appendix 2)” (Manzoor Moghal, 2010, pg. 5). Despite this ominous reputation, he is widely loved in Africa for disobeying and humiliating Western society during his tenure.
