Before Industrialization took over our lives, the pace of change in a preindustrial society was relatively slow. The Industrial Revolution was a major turning point in the way modern life was lived, it is a time period that greatly increased the output of machine made goods instead of man made goods made by craftsmen. As a result of the Industrial Revolution, the quality of life was improved. This way of life, made it easier for civilians, a new concept of supply and demand was emerging due to the rapid population growth. Ordinary craftsmen who had their own shop never felt the need to rush production because they were not getting business at a high rate. Now the demand for supplies was increasing rapidly. The pre industrial society of England did not have a lot of people, population was not able to grow because of poverty, war, plague and bad hygiene. For peasants both male and female, there was no clear distinction between one’s work life and one’s social life. Life back then was very rural, families lived on small plots of land, growing crops was for a family's consumption alone, churning butter and milking cows. An Industrial factory workers day consisted of workers gathering in a factories six or seven days a week, engaged in a tightly coordinated tasks packed by machinery. Some women made large contributions to their families through paid labor in the factories.
