Introduction
There are few who in this world that an entire branch of theology has been created from their ideas. Jacob Arminius is a part of that elite group that has a theology to their name. Arminianism was ultimately the result of Arminius’ life works, beliefs, and teachings. Growing up, Jacob Arminius began to question much of his beliefs and what was taught to him, so he decided to create his own views based on his individual understanding and interpretation of the Bible. With the emergence of Arminianism in the 17th century, a massive impact on the church was created. The addition of a competing theology with Calvinism, the church had very controversial topics to discuss and figure out. The impact of Arminianism is still seen throughout Christianity today. Regardless of whether an individual agrees or disagrees with Jacob Arminius’ theology, it would be absurd to say that it hasn’t changed the world of Christianity. Arminius’ life, teachings, and theology were controversial, and a lot of knowledge can come from an understanding of his ministry.
