How Did Jamestown Settlers Impact The Americans

During the late 1500’s there was two towns named Jamestown and the other was named Plymouth plantation. They were both headed to The Americas and they succeeded. The Jamestown colonists , who were led by John Smith, came for business reasons. Led by William Bradford, the Pilgrims wanted to have freedom of religion. The colonist and the Pilgrims did impact the Americas that we now live in. The colonist from Jamestown, was the 1st English settlement in the New World which is known as North America. Not to mention, as well the Pilgrims, impacted the Americas. The Pilgrims were the 1st to have “Thanksgiving.” That is how we now in North America we celebrate Thanksgiving. John and William came to the Americas to accomplish what they desired to do. They were now leading to the New World that would bring them unbelieveable things. Captain John Smith went to the Americas to become richer. He was a very selfish man and never really cared about anyone else. For example, Jamestown, which was the city where the colonist and John landed in, suffered through really harsh winters. The winters affected the crops that were growing. In England all people had to go to a church despite what you believe in. North America gave them a privilege to move on and do what was best for them and their families. Throughout the journey they suffered through diseases and many died once they arrived to North America. “..but it pleased God before they came half seas over, to smite this young man with a grievous disease, of which he died in a desperate manner..” (Bradford) They also had the faith in God that they would get to the Americas safe and even though they suffered difficulties throughout the journey in the sea they managed to make it with the help of God, “...the lord is never wanting unto his in their greatest needs, let his holy name have all the praise.”
