John F. Kennedy’s presidency was a major impact on America and its people through foreign politics, social reform, and science. Kennedy favored peace globally while keeping America a world presence. He was also one of the first Presidents who truly paid attention to racial conflicts and helped black people in their Civil Rights Movement. He launched an expedition for the New Frontier and aimed for space. Even his death had a big impact on America since it shows a live series of assassinations through live television. John F. Kennedy originated from a family with a rich history of vast business, military and political experience that helped eased Kennedy’s battle for political presence. Kennedy promised to fight for moral leadership that favored the Civil Rights Movement in his Presidential Campaign. Kennedy appointed many black people into office and supported the Brown decision in the case of Brown vs. Board of Education. Kennedy had also reinforced voting rights of the black folks, and set up the Voter Education Project to insure their progression. Like stated in Carl Brauer’s article,"Kennedy, John F.,” Kennedy had appointed Thurgood Marshall into office and he later became a federal judge and helped directed the Legal Defense Fund which supported the NAACP This is the first time black people actually had a big supporter in office for their fight. In Carl Braure’s article, Kennedy stated in one of his speeches addressing the soldier blockade of colored student entering a school,”If an America, because his skin is dark, cannot eat lunch in a restaurant open to the public, if he cannot send his children to the best public, if he cannot send his children to the best public school available… then who among us would be content to have the color of his skin changed and stand in his place?”. Kennedy tries to show the racist Americans a new perspective in his attempt to loosen racial conflicts. Despite his strong beliefs and actions, many conservatives believed racial conflicts shouldn’t get the federal government involved.
