To start, his influence didn’t start from when he was president, but it started when he was younger. In addition, John F. Kennedy did things during his presidency that showed his influential personality. To end, there were many roadblocks that President John F Kennedy had to overcome before and during his presidency. Kennedy’s time as president because doing this opened the eyes of many United States citizens. Being a person admired by many people in the country, made it easier to convince the common public to think twice about the Civil Rights movement. That’s also the biggest reason why the year after the death of President Kennedy the bill was finally passed. Another thing that President Kennedy did was that he supported many countries that were struggling. He did this by creating a group of people called the Peace Corps (Brainpop 4:39-4:41). The Peace Corps is a group of volunteers that go around the world to help people in countries that are suffering. Doing this showed how President John F. Kennedy was a person who cares about not only people within the country but also people who are having a hard time outside of the country. This also allowed for better relations with the United States and the countries outside of the country. Lastly, During the time when Cuba was going through a crisis with the Soviet Union, JFK used many peaceful measures to try and stop the Silviots from starting a nuclear war with the rest of the world. Kennedy was such an influential leader of his time, some things set him back before and during his time in office. One thing that Mr. John F Kenndey struggled with during his lifetime with disease. Mr.JFK had to deal with various types of diseases during his time in office and before too. Dr. Howard Markel, a PBS writer talks about the various illnesses Mr.JFK faced, one of which was scarlet fever. As a child, President John F. Kennedy was infected with scarlet fever which almost caused him to die. As a child, he also struggled with serious digestion problems too. These digestion problems followed Mr. John F. Kennedy throughout his life. Plus, later on, he had to deal with a disease, most likely tuberculosis, which affected hormones that help control sodium, potassium, and glucose levels in the blood, and mediate the body’s reactions to stress… “The chronic use of steroids over his lifetime likely caused osteoporosis” (Markel). Even with all of these issues in health, John F Kennedy strived to do what he wanted to do. He never let these illnesses scare him into believing that he couldn’t do what he wanted to achieve in life. Another thing that Mr. JFK had a problem with his back issues. After getting into the Navy, Mr. JFK started to get back issues. These back problems arose when President Kennedy saved another man who was injured.
