John Lennon and His Effect on the World John Lennon, just who was he, and why was he so important? John Lennon wasn’t just any ordinary man, he was a man who took part in the world famous band “The Beatles”. Not only did he take part in it though, he was the most famous of the bunch and played a very large roll in making The Beatles who they were. On top of being a crucial piece in The Beatles, once he left the band he took a huge role in bringing about major political change and activism. John Lennon had taken hold of the spotlight due to being in The Beatles, but instead of using this sort of fame for glory, riches, and self enjoyment, he decided to use it to help spread the word. Lennon knew just how powerful his voice was and how many people listen to him. He proceeded to chase after a life of activism with his fame to try and bring about positive change in the world. In the song he talks about bringing the world together and bringing about peace by taking down borders and making countries non-existent. Simply making them as one which would end fighting for land. He also talks about giving up your possessions and how that would eliminate greed and hunger since everyone would be sharing and helping each other.
