Throughout Russia’s history, there have been many rulers that tried to manage their country in different ways. Even though, all of these rulers had their own unique ways of ruling, all of them were seen as terrible by the people. This eventually led to a tipping point for the Russian citizens and the Russian Revolution took place. The goal for these people was to gain freedom from their oppressive czar but instead, they got an even worse leader. Joseph Stalin was a leader of the Soviet Union from 1929 to 1953 and he was known for his ability to strike fear into people.
An authoritarian dictator is a person in power who has total control of the citizens of a country. My dictators are Joseph Stalin and Mao zedong. Stalin ruled Russia and Mao ruled china. Mao's political party was the Chinese communist party. Stalin's political party was the communist party of the soviet union.
Although there are many different opinions about how Stalin became the dictator of Soviet Union for more than 25 years, most of the historians coincide in two main strategies that aided him to raise his power: the deletion of opposition and his role within the Party as a General Secretary. Stalin used political manoeuvres to fight against the leaders of both the Right and the Left, accusing them, pointing out the flaws of their ideologies, and making them lose credit. Surprisingly, one of his ways to come to power was shifting his ideology whenever it was convenient to fight the opposition. The Great Purges of the 1930s also exterminated all the present or potential enemies of Stalin, within the Party, in the Red Army or any other citizens
Stalin Primary ambition was to turn what he believed to be the industrial backwater that was the Soviet Union into an economic a world superpower. His goal was to make up decades or even years of time in just a single decade. By the definition of his goal he succeed he had turned a mostly agricultural country into an industrial super power, but it did not come without a cost. Those cost fell on the soviet working class in two ways the first was their atrocious living conditions and the second was their personal freedoms.
1984 is a worldwide known exposition that depicts the history of controlling governments and their abilities to mask the truth from its citizens. George Orwell alludes Stalin and communism to 1984 by describing the rulings of a power hungry government that restrains its citizens from the past and manages those who oppose their ideas. This representation of a communist ruling is unfavorable due to its treacherous acts to obtain power. George Orwell contains political aspects in many of his writings. 1984 is his illustration of criticizing political governments and the systems in which they control their citizens.
Joseph Stalin, 1878-1953, established totalitarianism in Russia, and forever changed the nation. He used police force to gain power, and instilled fear in all of his followers. This reign of terror was known as the Blood Purges or the Great Terror. During the Blood Purges, Stalin blamed Russian citizens for crimes he committed, and imposed the worst of punishments on them. Death or being sent to a labor camp, such as Gulag, was the fate of most.
1920’s until his death in 1953. Stalin was known for his cruel rise to power as he had anyone standing in his way either executed or exiled, but he was also known as the most murderous dictator. He ruled with an iron fist over the vast Russian Empire. His ruling was so cruel that Nazi soldiers during WWII reported former people under Stalin rule would run at the soldiers so grateful that they were away from the Russian Empire. Stalin placed millions of his own citizens in exiled labor camps during his rule.

Joseph Stalin was and still is universally known for his harsh leadership in the Soviet Union. To examine the extent of his cruelness, World Civilization II: The Rise and Fall of Empires© 1500-present stated, "Stalin was not a communist; he was a sociopath. He enjoyed hurting people and ordering their deaths. In his time as dictator of the Soviet Union, he was responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of his people, and the cruel torture and imprisonment of millions more" (Sattler, 71).
He participated in Allied conferences and was a very strategic planner. Joseph Stalin ignited “one of the greatest political repression campaigns in the history of the Soviet Union,” (Budanovic, Nikola). However, Stalin ordered the KKVD to mass murder political prisoners (Budanovic, Nikola). This caused much controversy for many people all over the world. He was very troubled throughout his life, and some experts believe this is a direct result of living in a broken home.
Stalin started to make even more advanced towards greatness. Starting off, in 1912 Stalin got his first taste of power when Lenin appointed him to serve on the first Central Committee of the Bolshevik Party. Then three years later the Bolshevik party gained control of Russia. During this time Stalin gained much power in the power and in 1922 he became the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party. However, Stalin’s real whitt showed when he started taking advantage of his new powers.

People take irrelevant things for granted in their lives. Like sleeping on a bed or having a roof over their heads. People can be alive and healthy unlike other people somewhere else in the world. Someone that has a person that loves them endlessly even though a person can mess-up. At the Cadian Ball and The Storm gives a good examples of how three people can take each other for granted with love.
