The era of 1920s represented vast developments in the music business. The phonograph record developed into the principal method of publicizing music, surpassing sales of sheet music. The music industry, ever powerful to learn new customs of making earnings, realized that record, sheet music and piano roll sales could all be tied together. This led to the creation of the “song plugger” which was a person who made sure his company’s music would be performed by bands and singers in hope of one of the tracks cracking the status of a hit. This marked that start of independent music companies, who were the companies that ended up grabbing musicians that the larger companies ignored; they weren’t scared to take chances on the so-called rejects.
The 1920’s was the era when entertainment really boomed and Hollywood came into the picture. Amazing books were written by Willa Cather, Sinclair Lewis, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Jazz was made a popular form of music by Louis Armstrong and Benny Goodman. But in the 30’s the entertainment industry took a dip because no one could afford food let alone a ticket to the movies or a concert. In the 1920’s the social norms were challenged by women called “flappers”.

Entertainment and leisure became very popular, the wealth it brought in led to new technology such as movies, sports, and the TV; African Americans pushed for freedom and rights. This era was also referred to as the “Roaring Twenties.” Most of the defining features of Modern American culture emerged during the 1920s. This time period primarily stands out as one of the most important in American history because that decade produced many artists, musicians, and writers who were some of the most innovative and creative people in the country’s history.
During the Roaring Twenties, people started spending more money and having more free time. They got this free time because of an increase in production, letting them out of the factories more. He was the one who set up the formality and style of jazz, when other players were playing for a long time and indefinitely.

These were some of the most famous jazz musicians of all time. Starting with louis armstrong, louis armstrong rose to fame in the 1920s, his mentor was joe king oliver in 1919. Oliver left louis to fill in hi spot in one of the best jazz bands in new orleans. Soon word spread throughout the city about louis armstrong's fantastic music. Next is jelly roll morton, he was the first great composer of jazz he was also one of the first jazz musicians to travel the country and spread the “new orleans sound”.

In fact, some people say that jazz is a union of African and European music. Most legends are known for excelling in a specific field or for doing something so impactful on the world that they will be remembered for ages. What set Louis Armstrong apart from others considered to be legends is that he did this multiple times throughout his life and with ease. Over time there have been many people that have impacted the world and society we live in.

As a few may know, jazz originated right in New Orleans in the 19th century. Some people find jazz dull and boring, while others find it quite soothing and helped them get through hard ships. It was made for people to of course enjoy, put their problem to the side, and have a marvelous time. There’s two outstanding jazz artists that come from two completely different backgrounds, sound completely different, and how similar their style of performance was. Allow me two introduce these two gentlemen as Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra.
Although most Americans will argue that a forced city wide curfew goes against their rights as American citizens, it is a way to keep the children and people that live in their city or town. When children run the streets after certain time limits, it becomes reckless and unsafe. They run the risk of getting seriously hurt, killed, or commit a crime. Kids that don’t do anything wrong are getting punished by the curfew. It’s not fair to punish all for one’s mistake.
