Have you heard of Louis Armstrong? If not then I’ll tell you. Born on August 4, 1901 Louis Armstrong is known in history for his amazing jazz songs and solos. When he was alive, many people saw him as a “one of a kind” musician. I believe Louis Armstrong was the most talented jazz musician in history because he defined what jazz was, was one of the best trumpet players ever and had made the first “scat” record. The work of the famous jazz musician Louis Armstrong summed up the milestones of New Orleans and paved the way to later changes of the music such as the now solo playing form. Thanks to Armstrong’s importance in jazz changed the course of the music from what seems to others as boring, slow music like at a poem group to music with vitality and flamboyance that you would hear in a church. This allowed jazz to be recognized and sooner or later people grew heavily fond of the music and it became one of the most recognized genres of music today. Scat singing is vocal improvisation with wordless vocables, nonsensical syllables or without words at all. Scat sing is one of the most difficult ways of singing because it requires singers to sing with the ability to sing improvised melodies and rhythms using the voice as an instrument rather than a speaking medium. The first ever scat record named “Heebie Jeebies” was the first ever scat record in history. Recorded in 1926, the record was a smash hit. It came to be when Armstrong accidently dropped his lyric sheet when they were recording and he didn’t remember the words, so he had to improvise.
