Shakespeare writing style varies to appease all types of audience members, he may use fights and death of characters to captivate the audience. Although, I believe that Macbeth should not kill Duncan because he did nothing to hurt or harm him in anyway. Of course there are pros and cons to both options. Obviously, one of the top reasons to murder him is he will then be the king. Despite being king there are no other major positives, there are more negatives thus overruling positives.
he'd still want to kill Duncan for his position and he absolutely hates that. On the other hand his wife, Lady Macbeth, she has been plotting a way to dethrone, if not, kill Duncan since the beginning of the play. This one was evil from the start. Instead of pushing his husband away from developing a corrupted mind like her own, Lady Macbeth instead guides him to killing Duncan. A key thing to remember is, Lady Macbeth only provided a small role to his husband's corruption psychologically, but overall what truly initiated his unethical mind was the witches prophecy.
Ambition and self-fulfilling prophecies two seemingly unrelated things that are actually intertwined with one another. Ambition is the thing that drives many people to do the things they love. Self-fulfilling prophecies are a direct result of ambition by the person subconsciously doing things to get their foreseen future. These things help the advancement of people’s lives. It is part of life to want to succeed and have dreams be fulfilled.
Macbeth was a good and loyal warrior for king Duncan but after he heard the witches predictions, it changed the person inside him. This play is from one of the best writer of all time William Shakespeare. The play is “The Tragedy of Macbeth". It's a summary about how Macbeth became king in the eleventh century and after he took the throne.
He chose to kill Duncan when speaking to his wife “I am settled, and bend up Each corporal agent to this terrible feat. Away, and mock the time with fairest show. False face must hide what the false heart doth know.” (1.7.79-82) He has decided not only to kill his king, but to pretend that he is innocent, and take his throne, It is his decision, not Lady Macbeth’s.
Macbeth is More Responsible In Shakespeare’s play “Macbeth” Macbeth is seen to be as the one responsible for King Duncan’s murder, as Macbeth’s hands were the ones that actually killed King Duncan. However, while Macbeth may be thought of as ultimately responsible for his actions, but there are other influences that actually show on a closer inspection of the text, the three main influences to his decision are Lady Macbeth, himself, and the witches. This is (in my opinion) convincing evidence that Macbeth is completely responsible for the murder of King Duncan.
So I am asking your majesty, why would Macbeth take all the blame for it? Lady Macbeth Says ‘My hands are of your color, but I shame to wear a heart to white’. This shows the major contribution that Lady Macbeth had towards the murder of Duncan. Often Lady Macbeth insulted Macbeth with statements that question his manhood. Lady Macbeth says ‘When you durst do it, then you were a man; And to be more than what you were, you would Be so much more the man.
They finally come to a conclusion that they should and they form a plan to kill him. After the king is killed by Macbeth he feels regret, but the person most responsible for king Duncan’s death is Macbeth.
Lady Macbeth plans to invite king Duncan over for dinner, but really she is convincing Macbeth to murder him. She influences him to kill Duncan because he is the only one standing in the way of Macbeth becoming king. Lady Macbeth plans the killing but convinces Macbeth to do the dirty deed. Lastly, Lady Macbeth is one of the causes of Macbeth’s failure because she repeatedly questions Macbeth’s manhood until she persuades him to make a bad choice. “When you durst do it then you were a man” (1.7.53-58).
It is human nature to want power, to be at the top of the pyramid, to be king/queen, but that comes at a price as shown in Macbeth. In the play, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth will do anything to have absolute power and nothing stands in their way. From killing to going completely mad, they will become the next king and queen at all costs. The ambition and the want for power is so high that they kill many, they do whatever they can to be one step closer, and they go completely insane, all because they want that absolute power.
Macbeth had another chance to change his outcome. his wife was consumed with the idea that he would become king, so much so that she pushed him to kill the current King. She said she couldn 't do it because King Duncan looked too much like her own father. Macbeth could have easily dismissed this and not listened to his mentally dwindling wife, “Come, thick night, and pall thee in the dunnest smoke of hell, that my keen knife see not the wound it makes, nor heaven peep through the blanket of the dark, to cry ‘hold, hold!’” He followed the instructions of his wife and killed the king.
In the play of Macbeth, there are some characters that could be responsible for Duncan’s death. I personally think Lady Macbeth is the cause of Duncan's murder. She is the most ambitious to kill the king in the beginning of the play, pressuring Macbeth. Lady Macbeth was persuasive of driving Macbeth to commit the murder. She manipulates him to go through with the murder even though he was very doubtful about it.
In this quote said by Lady Macbeth, she is telling Macbeth that the only way he can prove to be a man is if he gets rid of King Duncan: “When you durst do it, then you were a man; And to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man” (I.vii.48-50). By Macbeth caving to Lady Macbeth’s wants and killing Duncan, this situation starts a chain reaction of killing, led by Macbeth, to gain more power. I believe that if Macbeth had not listened to his wife, this would have changed the outcome of Macbeth becoming a tragic
Lady Macbeth did not grieve Duncan’s death for long. Lady Macbeth also is believed to had killed herself over the whole ordeal showing how guilty she is. What her real reason for taking her life was that she knew what was going down and ruined the country, about to get her castle destroyed, so she killed herself before anybody else could get to her. Showing that she is ultimately
Macbeth was introduced as a hero and everyone thought very highly of him. King Duncan trusted and was comfortable around Macbeth. He considered him as his friend and someone he could confide in. Macbeth’s love for the King and for Scotland makes him not seem wholly evil. It was Lady Macbeth who influenced Macbeth into killing King Duncan.
