It all started with the corruption of the Roman Catholic Church. All the church cared about was money and not about it’s own followers. Its own followers had no idea how corrupt the Catholic Church was and it was up to Martin Luther to finally reveal the truth about the Catholic Church. Once they knew the truth, the Catholic Church completely changed and for the better.
Martin Luther strongly believed that the truth about the Roman Catholic Church needed to be revealed. The church was selling indulgences. Which meant that people could pay there way out of hell and into heaven. This was completely wrong because the church was doing this to gain more money. The only people able to pay were the rich. The peasants had no money to pay their way

It brought many problems to Europe. Martin Luther said, “A Christian is a perfectly free lord of all, subject to none.” The peasants were motivated and rebelled against the nobility. Martin Luther didn’t protect the peasants. As a result the nobility killed thousand of peasants. The nobility were given land in exchange for the protestant faith. Another conflict was wars between the Protestants and Catholics began, and many were getting killed. Pope Paul III was the head of the church from 1534 to 1549, and Spain helped him kill Protestants. However, France believed they wee the ones that should’ve helped the pope not Spain. A war between Spain and France began. Both were catholic, so Catholics were fighting against Catholics. At the end Spain won. In addition, the thirty years’ war was another conflict. Ferdinand II was the Holy Roman Emperor and he closed down protestant churches. The Protestants response was “defenestration”. Which is the act of throwing something out the window. Representatives of Ferdinand were thrown out the window, landed in manure and they Surprisingly lived. Catholics believed it was a miracle go god. On the other hand, Protestants thought that there is no such thing in miracles. The manure helped them to survive the fall. Ferdinand actions lead to the thirty years’ war. In this long war, there were many phases. There is the bohemian phases, Danish phases, Swedish phases, and French phase. Catholics won the bohemian and Swedish phases. The Danish phase was a tie and in 1648 the peace of Westphalia was passes, which ended the war. At the end both Catholics and Protestants were broke to start another
