Martin Luther King Jr. has done many incredible things throughout his lifetime that has positively affected the world in plentiful ways. He played pivotal role in ending the legal segregation of well as the creation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. He was also elected to lead the boycott because he was young, well trained with solid family connections and had professional standing. Martin led the Civil Rights Movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until his death by assassination in 1968. Martin and over 60 ministers and civil right activists founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference to harness the moral authority and organizing power of block churches.

In May 1936, he was then baptized. At the age twelve Martin’s grandmother, Jennie, died of a heart attack. This event was so traumatic for him; it almost led him to commit suicide from a second story window of the family home. Later, King attended Booker T. Washington High School. In 1948, Martin earned a sociology degree from Morehouse College. He attended the Liberal Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester, Pennsylvania. King enrolled in Boston University where he met Coretta Scott. They were married in June 1953 and had four beautiful children’s. There children’s name are Yolanda, Martin King Jr. III, Dexter Scott, and Bernice. In 1954, king became pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church of Montgomery, Alabama.
