His father was a Baptist minister, as was his grandfather, and Martin Luther grew up to be the third minister in the family. He was a bright and intelligent young man, being the valedictorian in his high school class, attending college, and earning a doctorate degree. Of course, Martin experienced racial segregation throughout his lifetime, which led him to become involved in the civil rights movement. Influenced by Gandhi’s actions in India, he led many peaceful protests, such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott, in hopes of ending segregation. Some people say that the only reason he was taken so seriously and seen as a leader was because he was a minister. If he was like any other African American things would have been different. Even as the main leader of the Civil Rights Movement he was not always successful in enforcing his ideals as there were many instances where the movement took a minor violent turn. Some of the younger generation wanted a more militant approach to achieving the goals of the movement as most were unhappy with the slow pace of King’s nonviolent tactics.

The family lived in Atlanta, Georgia and then to Montgomery, Alabama, where King became the pastor of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church at age twenty-five. Later in life, I realized that Mr. King did a lot of African-Americans, he had many other important influential messages. His message was about the racial equality and the economic equality. Everyone in the states really deserved a good amount of money so they can support themselves and their families. His last speech was in support of the bus driver 's strike which is located in Memphis, Tennessee. While Mr. King was in Memphis for that trip in 1968, a man shot him on a balcony outside of his motel room.

In the book Allegory of the Cave, Socrates was talking with Glaucon and he began to explain how light and darkness are found within the nature of a human. In order to provide a better explanation Socrates created an image. This image was a dark den in which many humans were chained from the hands, feet and neck since they were children. These chains kept these prisoners from moving and allowed them to see only a wall of the den. Behind them there was fire, which was the only source of light in the place.

That following year, Martin then attended Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania. Lastly he enrolled in Boston University in 1951, completing his doctoral studies. On June 18, 1953, Martin Luther king Jr. joined into marriage of love with Coretta Scott, who was also a civil rights activists, which they got married on Coretta’s family home in Marion, Alabama. A couple years later into marriage they started to make a family to which they had two sons and two daughters that would lead into their father’s footsteps.
