It is horrible yet people continue to be racist. It has affected multiple races, cultures, and religions and still does today. Martin stood up for racial equality and by doing so he raised a public concern to the world about racism. He also fought to end segregation and racial discrimination. King worked hard to change the message of equality with non-violent campaigns and activism. Standing up for what he believes in makes him an active global citizen because it has made him an active member of the world's history and empowered many others to stand up for what they believe in. Martin stood up in many protests, campaigns boycotts and speeches. Important ones he participated in were, The Montgomery Bus boycott alongside Rosa Parks, The Southern Leadership Conference and his famous speech I Have a Dream. These were all used to help further create the change in the world he wanted to see. Later after Martin has made a huge impact on the world, while standing on a balcony outside his room, Martin Luther King Jr. was struck by a bullet and assassinated. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life is still remembered to this day as an active global citizen as he had a huge impact on racial equality and discrimination in the world. Today, he is widely known as a hero to many and someone who stood up when everyone was afraid to. His life and determination are remembered with a national holiday, schools and public buildings named after him, along with a memorial on Independence Mall in Washington, D.C. Students are taught about his life and many remember him as someone who taught how to make a change in a nonviolent way. His actions and life have also taught many to stand up for what they believe in through the circumstances they might face even if it is danger as well as to teach others and to live in a world of peace. Martin is known as a leader who stood up for what they believe in and fighting for social justice through nonviolent means and inspires many to act upon the world's choices and circumstances.
