Many people admire role models for different reason, personality, career, accomplishments, or for their public name. Young people in our society today need role models who are positive and have the good qualities with great achievements. Michael Luther King, Jr., later changing his first name to Martin is an influential role model for today's youth.

Martin Luther King Jr. was born January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. King was an American Baptist minster , activist, and one of the most influential civil rights movement leaders. King has accomplished many things, but he is mostly known for his nonviolent tactics based on his christin beliefs during the civil rights. This brought him to organize the March on Washington where he delivered his famous "I Have A Dream" speech. Dr. King used his voice to prove others their perception of African American were wrong. He knew in order to get the attention of all racial backgrounds his voice would have to speak for the people as a whole not to seperate them by racial classes.

Dr. King motivated people with his speeches and his initative to take actions against situations he wanted to see change from. His possessed qualities that leaders needed to have like; determination, responsibility, courage, and passion. His excellent leadership is traced back to his values, moral and personality. His fight for equality aloud him to one of the greatest influential activist. King was for peace and equality for everyone.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. possessed the qualities that a role model of this society should have. He did not use violence to get his point across instead he used his voice which accomplished way more than a weapon or riot would do. King paved the way for African Americans to be treated equal to our peers. Equality was his main focus throughout society.
