Josie Appleton’s piece opens with her introducing the fact that body modification has lost its mark of being taboo. Appleton then transitions into describing the different kinds of people that modify their bodies and why they do it. The fact that people used to mostly use tattoos to identify with a group and are now using them to define themselves is heavily enforced. The rest of the piece describes in great detail the different ways people use piercings and tattoos to better understand themselves and mark important milestones. The piece concludes with Appleton claiming that body modification should only be for fashion, because bringing significance to it causes problems.
Andrew Jackson presidency focused a lot on small government and pleasing the common man. He attempted to shut down national banks to make government smaller. Jackson also enforces things like the Indian Removal Policy, which strengthened the bond between Jackson and the common man. Jackson was the first and only president to make the country debt too. All of these impacted are government today very much as well as other governments around the world.
Fast forward to 1828, Andrew Jackson was elected president. He changed the party’s name from Democratic-Republican to Democrats. His party believed in supporting the rights and interests of the general population (the masses). During his time in office is when political parties had become the platform through where many Americans were becoming politically involved. People who opposed Jackson’s beliefs formed together to form the National Republican party also known as the Whig party.
It made him believe anything is possible. As you can see, it is clear that Michael has changed a lot from the beginning to end. Many people and events helped shape who he became like meeting Ellie and El Grande, his idol. For so long he thought that he was never going to be able to play with his team because he lost his birth certificate but there was a little hope and with a little help he got in time to make his dream into a reality. This book and character inspire people to always have hope and never give up even when the odds are against you.
Throughout the early 1800’s, the United States was going through some changes. For one, people were becoming more involved with electoral elections. By the year 1828, only two states out of the twelve were the legislatures voting for the president. This meant that people were voting for electors and that there was an increase in democracy. (DOC 1) With Andrew Jackson’s win over John Quincy Adams, he became the sixth president of the United States in 1829.
James joseph brown, a name that will be remembered throughout history for lifetimes to come. To understand how he changed society throughout the world we must start from the beginning. James brown was born May 3rd, 1933 in Barnwell, SC in extreme poverty, James Brown worked his way to the top of the funk and R&B. When James was 16, he was arrested for stealing a car, there he met music producer Bobby byrd and together they changed the world. When both brown and byrd returned from prison byrd ask brown to join his R&B vocal group,”The Gospel Starlights”.
Jackson was wanting to change Washington and America. He done that very fast. The very first major piece of legislation, Jackson had recommended and got passed, was the Indian Removal Act of 1830. This act forced Jackson to prevent all the Indian tribes to live East of the Mississippi River. There were five Indian nations that were highly effected.
The founders of the United States did their best to create a government that would not allow erroneous decisions to greatly harm the nation. They set a percent of presidents being politically sound and well-known; their beliefs for how the nation should be handled were essential to their campaign. President Andrew Jackson, however, did not follow this system, instead winning primarily by his personality and popularity amongst the common American. While his actions in office often appeared to be for the people, most had a hidden selfish side to them that he easily covered up. With the election of 1828, Jackson radically changed American politics, focusing them more on public appearance and personal character than on intelligence and political views, making personality just as, if not more important than the actual politics of a political term.
Many people try to change how they are to fit in . In school kids try to act cool, making up stories about themselves. Even if they don't try to change, other still judge them for fitting in or not trying. This is a problem now and back in times when color people were not accepted as equals. With this in mind, a great example is Jackie Robinson for his struggle to integrate.

Beauty will fade, but people are willing to do anything that they can to preserve it forever. From plastic surgeries for a thiner nose, to silly home remedies for a wrinkly face, we won’t stop until perfection is achieved. Martin Luther King Jr. How can one person change the world? Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist and leader . He completely changed the way people look at and treat others. Because of King civil right have changed forever and African Americans are now treated the same as anybody else.
The Jordan Influence When most people think about Michael Jordan, they think about him as the greatest basketball player who ever played. However, Jordan was not only a basketball player, but someone who influenced the American culture and society. Jordan’s influence was one that had never been seen before. Whether it was through basketball or his own brand, Jordan was making everyone want “to be like Mike”.

However, in modern day societies the stigma against body modification, including tattoos is still prevalent. To understand why people of a North American influence would subject themselves to this potential undermining, one must first uncover what motivates a person to permanently enhance their skin. Primarily, research into the topic, history, traditions, modern meanings, was conducted using printed resources, online databases, and online-published journals. Notes and condensed summaries of said research was used to create survey questions and a general audience was decided.
